turning - VACANCIES
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent precision CNC Turner - Programmer, Setter, Operator.
We are a family run business formed in 1972, based in Caversham in Reading, Berkshire. The majority of our machines are CNC Okuma lathes and CNC Okuma mills (1 with 5 Axis capability) with a XYZ Mill and XYZ Lathe. We also have a Mori Seiki Twin Spindle Twin Turret Lathe with Milling Capability - it also has live tooling. Okuma compatible with Fanuc Controls. We mainly work for the F1 and Oil and Gas Industry working to very tight tolerances - so a high standard of quality and accuracy is critical.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· To be experienced in programming, setting and operating our Precision CNC lathes. Sound engineering background using CNC Turning Machinery, calibration equipment and be self-sufficient. To be comfortable working with tight tolerance machining.
· Must be able to write CNC programs in G Codes and M Codes (or have good experience in this). To be a fully competent Precision CNC Turning Engineer.
· To be able to self inspect work accurately - First Article Inspections etc. CMM measuring machine experience would be a preference (we can offer training).
· To machine own holding fixtures and fittings.
· To machine finished components to the highest standard and correct specification in the most efficient manner.
· Keep all machinery, equipment and premises tidy and in good general working order.
· Be flexible in duties and carry out any work which has been deemed within your capabilities.
· Demonstrate experience within a manufacturing environment.
· Ability to work within busy environment.
· To insure at all times that you fully understand any instruction given, operating procedures of machines and equipment
· To be fully conversant with relevant sections of our ISO9001 procedure and standard (training will be provided). Maintain an attitude of continuous improvement in all aspects of work. To observe and maintain all Health and safety rules. And to show respect and a good working attitude to all members of A&Z.

Any employment taken will be contract to a 6 month trial period
Working Hours: 39 Hours per week (Monday to Friday) plus overtime when required (Monday to Saturday).
Job Type: Permanent and Full Time
Probationary Period: 6 months
